Pregnancy & Delivery

Delivery

Pregnancy and maternity care

We are well prepared for all delivery alternatives, from normal birth to caesarean section. Together we plan the safest birth for you and your baby, in a major hospital in Nairobi that suits you. That plan grows with your pregnancy as we follow your health and your baby’s growth at each visit. After the birth, our care continues as you recover and settle in with your baby.

Common questions

When should I start my pregnancy check-ups?

As soon as you know you are pregnant. Early check-ups help us follow your health and your baby's growth from the start, and plan a safe delivery with you.

How much weight should I gain during pregnancy?

The safe range is about 10 to 12 kg over the whole pregnancy. We check your weight at each visit and let you know if you need to adjust.

Is it safe to have sex during pregnancy?

Yes. Sex is safe throughout a normal pregnancy, with no restrictions unless you are advised otherwise for a medical reason by a qualified doctor.

Can I exercise while pregnant, and what type?

Yes, exercise is encouraged, unless you are advised otherwise for a medical reason by a qualified doctor. Walking, swimming and gentle stretching are good choices; avoid high-impact or risky activities such as diving.

Is a caesarean section safe?

Yes. A caesarean section is a safe operation when done by a skilled doctor in a well-equipped hospital, and we explain every step with you beforehand.
