Please bring your ID, any previous medical records or test results, and a list of the medicines you take. If you plan to use insurance, bring your insurance card as well.
Pregnancy & Delivery
When should I start my pregnancy check-ups?
As soon as you know you are pregnant. Early check-ups help us follow your health and your baby's growth from the start, and plan a safe delivery with you.
How much weight should I gain during pregnancy?
The safe range is about 10 to 12 kg over the whole pregnancy. We check your weight at each visit and let you know if you need to adjust.
Is it safe to have sex during pregnancy?
Yes. Sex is safe throughout a normal pregnancy, with no restrictions unless you are advised otherwise for a medical reason by a qualified doctor.
Can I exercise while pregnant, and what type?
Yes, exercise is encouraged, unless you are advised otherwise for a medical reason by a qualified doctor. Walking, swimming and gentle stretching are good choices; avoid high-impact or risky activities such as diving.
Is a caesarean section safe?
Yes. A caesarean section is a safe operation when done by a skilled doctor in a well-equipped hospital, and we explain every step with you beforehand.
Screening & Prevention
How often should I have a Pap smear?
Once a year. A yearly Pap smear finds early changes in the cervix before they turn into cancer.
When should I start cervical cancer screening?
As soon as you become sexually active. Starting early means any changes are found when they are easiest to treat.
How often should I check my breasts?
Examine your own breasts once a month, and have a breast examination by a doctor once a year.
